Toppenish, WA —YouthBuild Yakima Valley is recruiting for its next class in the Lower Valley, which is planned to begin in early January. YouthBuild is an education and construction training program. It provides young adults without high school diplomas the opportunity to continue their education, build skills, and serve the community.

YouthBuild is a national program that helps young people earn their GEDs, trains participants in construction trades, and teaches work readiness and leadership skills. Hands-on construction training takes place while building affordable housing within the community. Participants who successfully complete the program receive a nationally recognized construction trade certification.

To be eligible for participation, individuals must be 16 – 24 years of age, low income, a high school dropout or basic skills deficient, a resident of Wapato, Toppenish, Granger or Grandview and motivated to make a positive change in their lives.

Those selected for the program will earn a stipend for participation and will learn skills that will last for a lifetime.
