Fourteenth District Reps. Norm Johnson and Gina McCabe are holding an hour-long telephone town hall on Wednesday, Feb. 25, at 6 p.m. The program is similar to a call-in radio show in which people may call and ask questions over the telephone, and participate in surveys.
"The telephone town hall format is a great opportunity to connect with residents throughout both ends of the legislative district," said McCabe, R-Goldendale. "I look forward to visiting with constituents to hear their questions, comments and concerns on the legislation we are working on in Olympia."
"We will soon be voting on some very important legislation. It is as much as 250 miles between some areas of our district and Olympia, and a lot of people just can't get over here to talk with us. So this telephone town hall helps to bring us together with the folks back home so that we can get their views on the issues affecting the 14th District," said Johnson, R-Yakima. "Best of all, they can participate from the comfort of their own homes."
To participate call (509) 724-2954 during the event. If listeners have questions during the call they can press the star (*) key on their telephone keypads.
For more information about the telephone town hall residents can contact Rep. Johnson at (360) 786-7810 or Rep. McCabe at (360) 786-7856.
