We bought in, did you?  My health conscious honey is all about the yogurt!  The allure of Greek Yogurt includes higher protein, lower calories, lower carbs, lower sodium and better taste—but what about better health?Despite the fact that Greek yogurt sales are booming, and yogurt in general is featured in a variety of nutritional guidelines and dietary recommendations researchers have found little evidence of improved health.

Hey don’t shoot  me, I’m just the milkman…er.. middleman, delivering the info out of Spain where researchers looked at the response of over 4,000 participants to a survey about dietary habits.  The data was collected over three and a half years and discovered no link between regular yogurt consumption and improved health outcomes.

They also found no link between yogurt and improved health for those who don't smoke and eat a Mediterranean diet, ruling out the chance that poor health choices might disguise yogurt's health benefits among the general population. (UPI)

So the bottom line, there is no proof-so far that Yogurt is “healthy” but it is definitely healthier than a lot of alternatives so enjoy and release the microbes!
