Yakima’s Decision to Just Say No Goes National
The City of Yakima and Yakima County have decided to ban the sale and production of marijuana, despite the passage of Iniative-502. Yakima may very well be a trend setter, as other counties are considering similar bans. The decisions by the Yakima City Council and the Yakima County Commissioners have gained not only a lot of praise and criticism, but it's also receiving a lot of publicity. Sundays New York Times featured an article on the issue and highlighted Yakima. Yakima City Councilmen Dave Ettl and Bill Lover were quoted in the article along with local minister Rosetta Horne, who is supportive of the ban.
