Yakima Woman Stabbed During Child Exchanged
A 21-year-old Yakima woman is in serious condition at Harborview in Seattle after being stabbed by her ex-boyfriend at a gas station in Vantage on Wednesday. Authorities say Emily Van Osten met the suspect for a child exchange when she was chased and stabbed by the 24-year-old man from East Wenatchee. After the stabbing, he fled to the Vernita bridge where he threatened to jump. He was arrested after a four-hour standoff that closed the bridge to traffic. Two kids, ages two and four, have been turned over to protective services. They were not injured.
