Yakima Woman Killed In Domestic Violence Incident

Yakima Police say a 21-year-old man has been arrested for the stabbing death of his 27-year-old girlfriend. Police spokesman Mike Bastinelli says officers were called to a home at 43 West Viola at about 7:25 p.m. Monday for a domestic violence incident. A family member described the suspect and Bastinelli says when officers arrived they found and arrested  21-year-old George Anguiano on a first degree murder charge. He says officers searched the home. "We found the suspects 27-year-old girlfriend with what appeared to be a stab wound. She was pronounced deceased at the scene."
Bastinelli says the victim has been identified as Veronica Recio of Yakima. He says the couple had a history of domestic violence problems and police had been called to the home "several" months ago.
The suspect is being held in the Yakima county jail on a charge of first degree murder.
