A Yakima woman jumped from a bay window to escape her burning home.

Lena Vale says she’ll be okay after she was flown to Seattle for treatment. She has burns to her face and arms, and damage from breathing in smoke. There’s very little that can be salvaged from the home.

Her daughter lost clothes and essentials -The family also lost all their Christmas presents under the tree.

No word on how the fire started.

If you want to donate to the family, they have set up an account at Solarity Credit Union. You can walk into any Solarity branch and ask to donate to the Lena G. Vale Medical Expense Account. There are seven branches in Yakima.
