kit

Yakima police say 2 suspects robbed the Yakima VFW post at gunpoint early this morning escaping with hundreds of dollars in cash.  Capt. Rod Light says it happened at about 6:30 this morning when a 71 year old man was opening the post. The man heard a knock at the back door and when he opened the door the two suspects wearing masks forced their way inside. Once inside they pulled handguns and demanded cash from the till and a backroom safe.  Light says both suspects seem to be familiar with the military.

The victim was shaken but not injured after the suspects pointed a weapon to his head after taking the money the two fled possibly to a car waiting nearby. If you have information that could lead to an arrest contact the Yakima Police Department at 575 6200.
