You may not think so, but the Yakima Valley is a mecca for summer and wine tourists. Whether they come for wine, agriculture, sports, outdoor recreation, or just want to relax in the sun poolside, out of town visitors come and spend millions of dollars, making a huge impact on the local economy.

John Cooper, CEO of the Yakima Valley Visitors and Convention Bureau, was a guest on Wednesday's Mike Bastinelli show. He talked about the valley's recognition of North American Wine Tourism day this weekend, summer tourism, and upcoming events like the Pirate's Plunder Race this fall.
