Yakima city leaders met last night to discuss re-establishing services to Yakima Valley Trolleys.

The city council voted 6-0 to give the department about $13,000-- that money would go towards repairing poles and wires and restoring trolley service between Yakima and Selah.

City Councilwoman Kathy Coffey thanked Ken Johnson who has led the effort for many years to keep the Trolleys up and running.

The Trolly group plan to install new wire that will have an alarm system attached to it so Police can be notified if someone cuts the wire.
