Yakima Valley Tourism Welcomes Visitors to Wine and Ag Country
Welcome to the tourism season in the Yakima Valley. It is an industry that brings in millions of dollars and employs thousands of people in the Yakima County. Katie Heaverlo is Director of Tourism for the Yakima Valley Visitors and Convention Bureau who says besides the wine and sunshine visitors come to the valley for the agriculture and the chance to pick fresh fruit. Heaverlo says “people just love to get into the orchards where the fruit comes from. People just love to get their hands dirty” Ag tourism. It is not new to the valley but it may be new to visitors coming to the valley this summer. For more information go to visityakimavalley.org. and search farm fresh.
