Yakima To Meet To Beat Local Crime — Dave’s Diary

Look, it’s time we quit complaining about crime in our valley and start doing something about it.  We need your thoughts, your interest and ideas to help craft the solutions that will reduce crime and make us all feel safer in our beautiful Yakima Valley.

Safe Yakima Valley is inviting all of us to attend the Open Space Meeting on May 28th, 2014 for a one-day community forum, “What can I do to reduce crime in the Yakima

Valley?”  The intent of this special one-day meeting will be to identify new strategies, partnerships and actions steps for reducing crime and improving safety.

Public safety is everyone’s business- everyone’s benefits and everyone must make it their responsibility. You can play an important role in ensuring a safe community for yourself and future generations.

The community-wide forum on May 28th will be unlike any conference you have ever attended. Using a well-proven and highly effective process called Open Space, participants are invited to convene and lead sessions on issues they care most about. The Forum will provide time and space for you and others who share your approach to meet, plan, and actually initiate your activity as part of the over-all community effort.

The Forum will be held at the Yakima Valley Visitors and Convention Center on Wednesday, May 28th from 7:30am to 2:30pm. This event is free of charge and a boxed lunch will be provided.

Please RSVP or call Carmen at 509.248.2021 ext.112. Be sure to include your name as well as the names of any guest that will be accompanying you.
