Yakima Teachers: Here’s Your Chance To Fund Projects

Calling All Teachers. That’s the name of a US Cellular program in which the company is donating $1 million to fund teacher classroom projects in Yakima and across the country. Spokesman Dane Yancy says for the fourth year the company has partnered with donorschoose.org. “We encourage teachers to visit that website and register as a teacher and then post pictures and information about a project.” Yancy says it’s that simple visit the site and download pictures of your project. Teachers have until Sept. 21 to post projects hoping to get the funding needed. So far US Cellular has funded 4,500 classroom projects by purchasing art equipment, technology tools and science experiments. the winners will be announced in October. Last year, the company contributed $500,000 toward educational materials for improved classroom experiences.
