Look down, you'll soon seen some improvements in sidewalks. Yakima recently received over $800,000 to increase visibility of traffic signals and install new sidewalk ramps.  The money will also upgrade traffic signs and add sidewalks and is broken into two separate projects.

One will focus on the Lincoln Avenue corridor from North 32nd Ave to Fifth Ave. and the other is citywide. Engineers say the money requires no matching funds from the city. Yakima City officials say the work will likely start at the beginning of next year.
