Yakima Sheriff Taken to Hospital After Scary Crash

A Yakima Sheriff's deputy officer was involved in a car accident on Interstate 823 in Selah Saturday.

The officer was helping to move an abandoned vehicle on the side of the road when a Dodge Durango smashed into the driver side door of the police cruiser.

The driver of the Durango said ice on her windshield blocked her view of the road. The officer was taken to the hospital for precautionary reasons but was not hurt.
