Yakima School District board member, David H. Garcia, announced his resignation from the school board effective September 20. Garcia, who was appointed to the board in July of 2010, has accepted a position at Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington.

In light of this vacancy, the Yakima School District Board of Directors is currently looking for applicants for the position of school board director. A qualified applicant must be a citizen of the United States and the State of Washington; a registered voter in the Yakima School District; and a resident of the Yakima School District.
