The holidays are right around the corner. For parents who are short on funds it's a challenging time. Lisa Sargeant with the Yakima Salvation Army says they can help. She says they will be giving toys and food to needy families this holiday season. The signup for the toy program is Nov. 2nd and 3rd at the Salvation Army. It is first of many programs during the holidays to help needy families. There is also Project 300 Kids Shopping. Sponsors step up allowing kids to go shopping for new school clothes in December. Food baskets will be given away during the entire holiday season. People can help financially or volunteer to work. Call the Salvation Army at 453-3721.
