It has a pool, open green space and tennis courts but Yakima's Franklin Park is missing one thing: a playground. But that will soon change. The Yakima Rotary Club is donating more than $80,000 to build a new playground at the park.

Franklin Park once had a playground but it was removed after becoming a constant target of vandals. The parks and recreation department says the new structure will sit just west of the tennis courts.

Construction is expected to start this spring. Rotary volunteers will install the equipment.
