As students go back to school this week, road work continues on Yakima city streets -- and that could delay your commute.

But there is good news. City Engineer Bob Degrosslier says the paving work is about 50 percent complete. He tells KIT News the work should be completed by mid-November.

We still have a lot of ramps and curb work. Even though our roads have been paved we still have to come back raise utilities and do a lot of work still on the roads.

And this week crews are concentrating on a four-block section of Arlington Street that will affect traffic for most of each day through Friday, while crews repair and repave the street. In addition to the lane closures, no parking on Arlington between 40th Avenue and 44th Avenue will be allowed while the project is underway.
