The Yakima Chapter of the American Red Cross is doing its part to help victims of Hurricane Sandy.   The Chapters emergency response vehicle and two local volunteers are one their way to New York City to help in the hurricane relief.   Lisa Reinhart, Executive Director of the Yakima Chapter says the volunteers will  hand out snacks, hot food, blankets, comfort kits in areas hard hit by Sandy.  Reinhart says the vehicle will stay in the New York area until spring.   The Red Cross welcomes cash donations,  but what is desperately needed is blood.   If you're in the Yakima area and you are able to give blood, contact the Red Cross at 457-1690.
