Yakima Police To Announce Latest Gang Arrests In News Conference Thursday

Last month the Yakima Police Department conducted an emphasis patrol targeting wanted gang members and the patrols continue this month. More patrols have been conducted and more arrests have been made. Capt. Gary Jones tells KIT News..."we're not just targeting the very minor of offenses we're looking at things that are major problems in our community and the people out there that shouldn't be walking around freely."

Yakima Police have called a press conference for Thursday afternoon to release details of the latest emphasis patrols.
Last month emphasis patrols targeting gang members resulted in 15 arrests, 8 of which were gang members. Stolen guns were also recovered.
