Yakima Police suspect something odd is going on in the Yakima drug scene. A rash of recent overdoses and deaths has police wondering if the powerful drug Fentanyl is to blame. Fentanyl is drug more powerful than morphine and one that police spokesman Mike Bastinelli says people are making in other countries. "A lot of these drugs are made in places like China and Mexico and brought into the country. In bigger cities there's been multiple deaths." The problem, says Bastinelli is that Fentanyl is being made to look like less powerful drugs that are being sold in pill form on the street. So people are buying what they think is one type of drug and instead it's the powerful synthetic opiate called Fentanyl. On Wednesday a 20-year-old Yakima died of an overdose at a Yakima home. Police are waiting on toxicology results to see if Fentanyl is to blame.
