Yakima police are still searching for the convicted felon who was given a 24 hour furlough to visit his sick mother. Officers have not  been able to track down 29-year-old Jacob Lucey. Linda Cook told action news she is hurt by the negative comments about her son. She says he was not lying to get out of jail.

"A 24-hour furlough to a dying mother who they say quote, 'they don't know if I'm sick or not.' yes, I'm very sick. I have degenerative arthritis through my whole body. I have other issues, health issues I don't care to discuss," said Linda Cook, Jacob Lucey's mother.

Lucey's mother says he spent his time out of prison taking care of her and she wants him to turn himself into police.
