Police are looking for two people who committed two separate carjackings Tuesday in Yakima.

The first was Tuesday afternoon when a woman gave a ride to two people -- a man and a woman -- at the Valley Mall. Once in the vehicle, the man pulled out a knife and demanded that the victim drive to Seattle. The woman refused, pulled into a gas station near 18th Avenue and Nob Hill Boulevard and jumped out of the car. That car was found abandoned a short time later near South First Street and Nob Hill.

Then, Tuesday night around 7:20,. a man and woman stole a another man's money and car. Police say the victim, a local business owner on West Yakima Avenue, had just closed his store and was getting into his car when his two assailants demanded cash. The victim initially refused to hand over any money, but eventually did after one pulled out a knife. The pair then took the cash and the victim's car and drove away.

The suspects are described as a Hispanic man and woman, both in their late teens or early 20s, both 5-foot-4 to 5-foot-5 with average builds. The man was wearing blue jeans and a blue sweatshirt, the woman was wearing a light sweatshirt with jeans. The stolen vehicle is a 1999 white Lincoln Town Car with Washington plates AQZ7915.

The Yakima Police Department warns against giving a ride to anyone you don't know. Also, be aware of your surroundings as you approach your car. If you see anyone suspicious nearby, call 9-1-1 and ask for a police officer to come to the scene before you enter your car.

If you have any information on either case or if you see the Lincoln Town Car, police ask you to call 9-1-1.
