Yakima Police say a woman was kidnapped off a street in North Yakima early Sunday morning, driven to an unknown location and assaulted.

Police say the 53-year-old woman was released and walked to a nearby home and called police. Authorities say it happened at about 6:15 a.m. as the woman was walking to work in the area of Elks park, North Eighth Avenue and Hathaway Street. According to police, she was confronted by a man she says she didn't know and forced into a beige van. She was then driven to an area, assaulted and then released.

Police describe the suspect as a Hispanic man in his late 30s or early 40s, with a medium build. he was driving either a tan or beige van. If you can help find the suspect call  the Yakima Police Department at (509) 575-6200.
