Yakima Police Officer Resigns To Become Pastor

Yakima Police officer Bryan Elliot spent six years with the Yakima Police Department but he's decided to go in a different direction. Today he's starting his new job as the Associate Pastor overseeing the Children's Ministry at Memorial Bible Church in Yakima.
Yakima Police officials say Elliot was known for going above and beyond the call of duty, not only to help anyone in Yakima but also other members of the department.
In 2016 Bryan was recognized as the Yakima Police Department Officer of the Year.
