Yakima Police were called to a home in the 3 hundred block of Cherry Avenue just after midnight. They found one man dead of a gunshot to the head and 2 others wounded. The dead man has been identified this afternoon.

A shooting on Cherry Avenue very early this morning left one man dead, and two others injured. This afternoon, Yakima Police Department spokesman Rod Light said the man was identified as 43 year old David Silva of Yakima.  Silva apparently died from a gunshot wound to the head. Police are now saying it was not gang related.

Light says the shooter approached the three while they were standing on the porch of the home. One woman and one man were taken to a local hospital. Their conditions are not known this afternoon.

This is Yakima's third homicide of the year, and police are looking for a person of interest in the case.
