Yakima Police Identify Shooting Victim, Still Searching For Suspects

Yakima Police have identified a man shot in a car in front of the Eighth Street Market and Deli on Saturday as 26-year-old Raymond Hernandez.

Police spokesman Mike Bastinelli says officers were called to the store at about 8:45 p.m. Saturday. "At this point in this investigation it appears there were several men who jumped out of another vehicle walked up to the victims car and fired several shots through the windshield," Bastinelli says.
He adds that Hernandez has past gang ties, but nothing recent.

Hernandez is listed in critical condition at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. No arrests have been made.
