The Yakima Police Department hopes to soon replace Havoc, a K9 that was killed while off duty last week. Police spokesman Mike Bastinelli says the only problem is funding. The dogs are paid for through private donations. "There's no money in the budget so with Havoc Hopunion foot the bill. They paid $16,000 to purchase him and help train him." And Bastinelli says another dog could cost that much or even more. Currently the department has 3 K9's working patrol. The department is hoping to find another funding source to place another 4 legged officer on the force. If you'd like to help contact Yakima Police at 575 6200.
