Yakima Police Chief Dominic Rizzi says people are cooperating more with police these days, and that helped officers make an arrest and recover weapons stolen from Grumpy's Outdoor Supply Store last Thursday.

"We're starting to get some phone calls and people coming forward and giving us information," the chief says. "And some of that information led us to the recovery of these weapons."

Rizzi says one man is in jail and police are looking for a 16-year-old boy after at least 98 firearms were stolen from Grumpy's last Thursday. Bail was set at $150,000 Monday for a 24-year-old man arrested Saturday at a home in the 400 block of North Fourth Street, where a stash of nearly four dozen stolen guns were found under the floor. About 42 of the 47 guns recovered in the home were linked to a burglary at Grumpy's.
Police say burglars punched a large hole in the building's drywall and stole pistols, rifles and other firearms around 2:20 a.m. Thursday.

Meantime, he Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the National Shooting Sports Foundation -- a firearms industry trade association -- are offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in the Grumpy's break-in.

ATF is offering a reward in the amount of up to $5,000, which will be matched by the NSSF for a total reward of up to $10,000.

If you have information to share, contact the ATF at 1-800-ATF-GUNS (800-283-4867), Yakima Police 576-6598 or Yakima County Crime Stoppers, 248-9980.

The ATF assures that all calls will be confidential.
