Lobbying for City projects is what a team from Yakima is doing in Olympia today. City Manager Tony O'Rourke and Police Chief Dominic Rizzi Jr. are knocking on doors of lawmakers along with City Council members Dave Ettl and Mayor Micah Cawley. The team from Yakima is meeting with the city's lobbyist who is working on behalf of the city in the legislature this year. This is the first time the city has hired a lobbyist during the session. Gang funding and money for development of the former mill site along I-82 are two of the main projects the team from Yakima will be lobbying for in Olympia. City officials are expected to be back this evening.
