It's called Thanksgiveaway and it's an effort by the Yakima Union Gospel Mission to give away 500 food baskets for the Thanksgiving holiday. Spokesperson Sarah Holtzinger says it's only possible because you give to the Mission.

"We couldn't do it without the community's help," she says.

Right now the mission is in need of turkeys, canned corn, cranberry stuffing and apple or grape juice, Holtzinger says.

The Thanksgiveaway to low-income families and seniors is Nov. 25. If you'd like to get signed up to receive food or donate contact the Mission at 248 4510.
