There's a big party planned for next Wednesday at State Fair Park. The Yakima 4th of July celebration will be held from noon to 11pm with the highlight being the big 4th of July fireworks display. The chair of the 4th of July committee Micah Cawley says the big party is being held to get more people away from lighting fireworks that are illegal in the city of Yakima. The 4th of July celebration is provided by donations. The party starts at noon and will kick of with music and a pie eating contest. The festivities are free to the family and with thousands expected to show up Yakima is transit will be providing a free shuttle rides. The Buses will drop off passengers from 3:30pm to 11:30pm from parking lots at the Gateway Center and Eisenhower High School. There will also be a carnival that starts this Friday and will continue through the 4th of July week. The celebration committee is about 10 grand short and looking for donations.
