Yakima Indoor Mart Robbed Tuesday Morning

Two suspects in the crime were apprehended near Wapato while another remains at large.

Yakima Police report that the Yakima Indoor Mart at 1 Ranch Rite Road was robbed by a man and a woman at about 11:45 Tuesday morning. The suspects took merchandise from the store and were followed by a store clerk when the left the establishment. The clerk was assaulted by the female suspect, but managed to pepper spray one of the alleged robbers in the vehicle.

Police began a pursuit of the suspect vehicle which ended near Wapato. The vehicle was found abandoned and after a short chase on foot a male and female were taken into custody. The male suspect was in possession of an illegal sawed off shotgun. The shotgun was not used in the robbery.

A third female suspect, believed to have been the driver is still at large.
