YAKIMA, WA – The public is invited to attend a free environmental presentation on Friday, November 16 at 6:30 PM at the Yakima Convention Center as a part of America Recycles Day.

Yakima County Solid Waste is hosting Environmental Protection Specialist Jim Evanoff, who will speak about his experience managing Yellowstone National Park’s sustainability programs and his work in collaborating with private and public entities to sustain national park resources.  Mr. Evanoff will take attendees on a rich, historical journey through the park from its inception to current day.  Amazing images combined with an educational and enlightening presentation will make participants feel like they have voyaged to Yellowstone National Park.

Jim Evanoff is also the keynote speaker at the Youth Environmental Summit, to be held earlier in the day. The summit, also sponsored by Yakima County Solid Waste, is open to school groups in Yakima County in grades 6-12.   Both events will take place at the Yakima Convention Center, 10 N. 8th St. in Yakima.

Information about recycling, composting, and hazardous waste prevention will also be provided to attendees.  The free event is open to the public; however, registration is required.

Space is limited, so early registration is strongly suggested. Contact Yakima County Solid Waste (509)-574-2450 or register on-line at YakimaRecycles.com.
