Yakima Fire Department to Hold Remembrance, Water Work at 16th and Nob Hill

The Yakima Fire Department will hold a 9-11 Rememberence Ceremony on Thursday, Sept. 11.
The ceremony starts at 8:40 a.m. Thursday as the department pays tribute to the 3,000 civilians and 400 emergency responders who died on September 11th, 2001.
The ceremony is being held at the Yakima Convention Center on Thursday morning. The ceremony will be observed on the 8th Street side of the convention Center.
Water service will disrupt traffic at the corner of 16th Avenue and Nob Hill Boulevard on Sept. 10.
Work will begin at 6:00 a.m. and continue until 3:30 p.m.
The intersection is often quite busy and there are expected to be delays as 16th Avenue northbound will be limited to one lane. Nob Hill Boulevard eastbound will also be limited to one lane. The city is recommending using alternate routes.
