After being without a mayor for two weeks, the Yakima City Council elected a mayor last night.

He is actually the same mayor whose held the position for the past 4 years.

By a 4-3 council vote council member Micah Cawley was elected over Rick Ensey.

A first vote was taken two weeks ago but the vote ended in a 3-3 tie. Newcomer Thomas Dittmar, who was sworn in last night after being appointed last week, voted for Cawley.

Cawley becomes the city's first three-term mayor since Pat Berndt in the late 80's and early 90's.
