Yakima Farmers Market To Open On Sunday

It's that time of year. The sun is out and you're in the mood for a farmers market. City Economic Development Director Sean Hawkins says the Yakima Farmers Market is set to open this Sunday. "The market is quiet at the beginning of the season. You have only have a handful of things that are ready for harvest."
But he says that's different in late May and in June and July when the market is busy with lots of vendors and lots of people. The Yakima Farmers Market opens this Sunday and every Sunday after that through October.
The market is held on South Third Street in front of the Capital Theater. Market hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
