The Yakima County Veterans Program has moved to a new location where officials hope they're more accessible to local vets. The new location at 223 N. 1st Street in the former Pizza Hut building will hold an OPEN HOUSE on Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Director Dave Brown says they have a variety of ways to help vets and their families including helping low income veterans with a temporary emergency. "It could be something like a gas voucher, stopping an eviction those type of things."
Brown says with the new office veterans who need help no longer have to pass through security at the courthouse.
The Program partners with business, organizations, and individuals accepting donations of non-perishable food For our food Pantry and gift cards for essentials such as food and gas.
at the corner of N. First Street and E. Lincoln Ave. The open house on Tuesday is set for 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
