There is still plenty of time to fill out that ballot for next month's General Election, says Yakima County Auditor Corky Holloway.

The ballot is due in the auditor's office on Tuesday, Nov. 4, but she says many people wait until the last minute to send in the ballot or drop it in a drop box.

Holloway is expecting the same turnout as state officials are expecting --about 62 percent. She says that is not a huge percentage, but it exceeds turnout in the May primary. Only about 30 percent of the more than 106,000 ballots sent to county voters and voters around the state were returned to auditors' offices.

This time Holloway and state officials are expecting a much better turnout. However, thousands of ballots still will go into the trash.
