Accuracy is one of the main reasons why Yakima County Auditor Corky Holloway says she's against requiring voters to turn in ballots by 8:00 p.m. like the State of Oregon rather than the current system in our state that allows voters to have them postmarked on election night and counted in the days ahead Holloway says that requirement would mean all ballots would have to be counted on a late election night. "I know there's places in Oregon where staff has to work 3:00 a.m. and I would have concerns about accuracy if the staff is working on them until 3 in the morning."  She also says such a requirement would disenfranchise college students and military members and others who vote overseas. She says the current system was put in place to make sure everyone has an equal enough time to make an informed vote.
