The Yakima City Council held a special meeting this afternoon and unanimously approved a separation agreement with City Manager Tony O’Rourke.

O’Rourke’s was hired in July 2012 and his last official work day as Yakima City Manager will be November 30th .
He will stay on until December 31st in the role of consultant to help City Attorney Jeff Cutter transition into his role as Interim City Manager.

O’Rourke will receive severance equal to four months of his base pay. City medical and life insurance benefits will also be provided to O’Rourke for four months following his departure.

At last Friday’s special meeting, the Council also decided to establish a committee of newly elected Council members to

to complete.
