The Yakima City Council meets for a retreat today to begin to address some concerns of residents revealed in a recent survey.  City Manager Tony O'Rourke says the survey found that people are concerned about crime, job opportunities and the cities reputation.

O'Rourke says surveys are part of his management philosophy.  O'Rourke says it's a way to keep in touch with the customers or taxpayers in Yakima.  O'Rourke says he's mostly surprised that the survey suggested Yakima has  a lack of self esteem, something he wants to change by addressing community concerns through a strategic plan developed by the city council. The city council is meeting at the Yakima Convention Center today for it's retreat.
