The Yakima City Council will vote on a resolution Tuesday that would formally change the name of Columbus Day to Indigenous Peoples Day to be celebrated and recognized on October 10 of every year. The resolution is being drafted with the help of the Yakama Nation. City Council members will formally vote on the resolution during the council meeting set for 6:00 p.m. Tuesday at city hall. The council voted earlier this month to formally change the day through the resolution the council will consider during it's regular council meeting.
