Yakima City Council Member Involved In Crash Sunday At 16th And Tieton

The Yakima County prosecutor's office is reviewing and investigating reports of an injury accident involving 29-year-old Yakima City Councilwoman Carmen Mendez.

The crash was reported at about 9:15 p.m. Sunday at 16th and Tieton. The prosecutor's office says no citations were issued, and so far no charges have been filed.

Prosecutor Joe Brusic, however, confirms alcohol was a factor in the crash.

Yakima Police had no comment.
