Yakima City Council Considers Applications From City Hall

As the city of Yakima works closely with a national job search firm to find a new Yakima City Manager, the city may also consider applications for the position from within Yakima City Hall. Mayor Micah Cawley spoke to our news partner KIMA Action News after Thursday’s meeting to talk about the resignation of Don Cooper. Cawley was asked if the current Assistant City Manager, Michael Morales, could be named to the position. Cawley says he’s just happy that Morales is willing to help out the city by taking on the responsibilities of the City Manager.
