The search for a new Yakima City Manager was the focus of a special meeting at City Hall on Tuesday afternoon. The meeting focused on five different firms and thier expertise. All of the firms skyped in and answered questions by council members regarding what they can do to find the best candidate for the job. Yakima City Council members spoke with officials from The Mercer Group, Gob Murray & Associates, Ralph Anderson & Associates, Waters & Company, and the Prothman Company. Councilwoman Kathy Coffey.  "We need to recognize that it is going to take time, we need to first start by selecting this search firm and then actually find those individuals who are interested in this community,"
Next Tuesday the council is expected to choose a firm. Once that happens the process of finding and interviewing candidates will take about 4 to 6 months.
The firm selected will be paid between $20,000 to $30,000 for their services.
