Yakima City Council Approves Jail Contract with Yakima County
Tuesday night the Yakima City Council approved a jail contract with Yakima County to house inmates at the Yakima County Jail. The council also set a public hearing on a proposed name change for a city road. Local veteran’s groups want the city to rename “A” street Sergeant Pendleton Parkway after Yakima’s only Medal of Honor winner. Sergeant Jack Pendleton was killed in WW 11 in 1946.
Today Yakima City Manager Tony O’Rourke will be on “The Mike Bastinelli Show” today to talk about these issues and much more.
Also today Labor Analyst Don Meseck will join us to talk about the employment picture in Yakima County.
Listen today from 3 to 6 on AM 1280 and FM 99.3 Newstalk KIT.
