Yakima Bishop Joseph Tyson says while he understands the intent of the presidents travel restriction from 7 different countries he believes the entire situation could have been handled differently to better help people around the country and the world better understand it's about security and not about banning Muslims. Tyson says Catholic charities that bring refugees to the country want to do it as safely as possible. "So we are working with the government. We don't bring people in around the government. When migration services brings someone in it's through the state department."
Tyson says safety is the bottom line and he believes that's the intent of the Trump administration. But he admits many people in Yakima are worried about the the administrations immigration policies.
