It's the latest public art in Yakima. It's called Yakima Illuminations: Bins of Light, and it's located above the Lincoln Avenue underpass.
Crews have started placing the the large metal structures that resemble fruit bins stacked on top of each on top of the underpass. Yakima city spokesman Randy Beehler says special glass panels will soon be installed.
When completed, the display will be 17 feet high at its tallest point. It's specifically designed to look like colorful, flashing fruit boxes, illuminated at night by red and yellow LED lights and lit in the daytime by natural light. Beehler says construction is on schedule and it's expected to be finished next month.
